Zophie was born in Grand Calvera Kennel in Czechia and was brought to Slovenia where she the princess of our hearts and house. She enjoys her life to the fullest. Her schedule is quite busy – besides daily napping, cuddling and guarding her house & family, she enjoys taking walks & trips and do agility & hoopers trainings. 

Zophie is a true representative of the breed – a big dog (with even a bigger heart) in a small body. She’s smart, curious, loves learning and doing things well. This is why only regular physical activities and daily walks are not enough for her, she needs mental activity, as well. Although she doesn’t like repetitions (especially if the task has already been done correctly :)), she still wants to do things well. This might be a challenge sometimes, because only practice makes perfect – another reason why she’s such a gorgeous dog. She makes me (and our trainers) think outside the box, looking for solutions that encourage and motivate her and me to do our best. 

Zophie takes her guard-dog job seriously. She’s our wireless doorbell, making sure no one comes to our house unnoticed. But the moment she realizes it’s not an intruder, but just another nice human being, she’s the kindest host possible – she keeps everyone entertained and occupied with petting and cuddling her. She even makes things easier by jumping into a lap.

Zophie has incredible dog social skills. She is a bit reserved, but always friendly when meeting a new dog, never initiating a contact, but always initiating a play, the moment she feels safe. She’s curious, sniffing and exploring everything around her while on walks, but never tempted to go her own way. She can be trusted completely and her recall is 100%. Although she’s a pocket rocket, Zophie is also a couch potato, enjoying napping, cuddling and snoring. She’s very adaptive and is one very happy Schnauzer – as long as she’s with her (favourite) humans.
